Northern is an amazing place for our children to learn. In our latest news section we will share with you the latest events taking place across the school. More detailed information can be found on your child's class website page.
Today we had our Mad Science Assembly! The theme of today's assembly was the Science of Sounds and the children were amazed by the experiments that they witnessed. If your child has been enthused and inspired by the assembly today, there is an after school club starting next term so check your child's bag for the sign up letter as places are given out on a first come first served basis!
Today our school council met with Jackie, Megan, Rob and Andy to form a plan to tackle the speeding of drivers past our school. Our children want to feel safe when they are walking home and made this point very clear in this meeting. They devised a plan of action and it is going to be discussed at the next police and council meetings. Watch this space!
Want to try your hand at an adventure sport which works your body and mind? Pendle Forest Orienteers have a free junior training session this Saturday (14th January) at Stubbylee Park, Bacup for those young adventurers! Find the checkpoints on the map, take the best cut throughs in the park and navigate your way to a whole sense of adventure with free activities courses and games!
If you do decide to join us - please wear appropriate clothing.
This week, STEM Club started and the children loved it! Take a look at what we got up to after school.
WOW! The raffles that we held over the last couple of weeks have raised £538 and we have been blown away by your generosity. As a school we are wanting to expand our Forest School area and the School Council have been writing to local companies to try and get donations. However, with the raffle money, a donation from the PTA and money raised from previous non-uniform days, we are now able to afford a poly tunnel for school.
This will be a project which we will run during the Spring term to hopefully have the area up and running in the Summer term. If any parents are interested in helping us prepare the ground and foundations for the poly tunnel then please do get in touch.
Thank you again; we couldn't have done this without you all.
Merry Christmas from Mrs Ewens
Today our children have been taking part in a No Pens Day around school. They have taken part in a range of activities with every teacher from Yoga to sign language to creative art and music. The children have really worked hard in all sessions and are certainly skilled in a variety of areas. Well done Northern!

The absolutely wonderful large Christmas hamper has been won by Dylan's mum in Reception! He was very happy to accept the ticket on his mum's behalf! Well done and massive thanks to all who purchased a ticket!
Today was the day that our very own 2022 World Cup Final took place! For the last 4 weeks, Mr Hindle has organised and ran a super successful Table Football competition and today in school, we held a whole school assembly where the final took place between Canada (Mason and Max from Year 6) and Spain (Brody O and Sienna from Year 4). It was a very close game and the score was tied at 4-4 but Canada clinched it in the end! Well done boys! Mr Hindle also gave prizes to the runner ups and his helpers. Well done Northern and well done Mr Hindle!
