Northern is an amazing place for our children to learn. In our latest news section we will share with you the latest events taking place across the school. More detailed information can be found on your child's class website page.
Today our Year 4, 5 and 6 children went to Burnley Cinema to watch The Polar Express! We had a simply marvellous time and we enjoyed every single minute of the film and we are most definitely feeling the Christmas spirit. Massive thanks must go to the PTA because it was down to them why we were able to take the children on this exciting trip!
Today our stage was transformed into our very own sparkly grotto complete with Father Christmas. Every child got to visit the grotto, give Father Christmas their long list of presents and even received an early Christmas present off him too!
Separate to our Christmas show raffles we are running a Christmas Hamper Raffle. An absolutely wonderful large Christmas hamper has been donated by one of our fantastic parents (please see attached pictures to see how amazing the hamper is). It contains 2 bottles of Prosecco, 3 bottles of wine, puddings, sweets, preserves, and many other treats.
£1 per ticket.
To be in with a chance of winning this prize please send in an envelope with cash, your name and contact details and write how many tickets you'd like.
The winner will be drawn at 1.30pm on Thursday 15th December.
As the prize contains alcohol adults only must enter so we do need entries to be in an envelope with an adult's name on. Also, an adult needs to collect the prize hamper.
Please share this information with friends, family etc as all monies raised will support school activities & resources.
Children from Year 3 and Year 4 had so much fun making Christmas crafts with their parents. Just look at how many decorations they made!
Here at Northern we love to celebrate events and achievements in and out of school and on Sunday 27th November, Ellie (Y5) and Georgia (Y6) held a stall for the Rosemere cancer centre to help raise funds to help a very worthy cause. The girls selflessly gave up their own time to help others and we are proud beyond words! Well done Ellie and Georgia!
Today our Year 6 children have had a visit from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to tell them all about how to stay safe whilst near roads and how to avoid accidents and dangerous situations. They were also told the laws around seat belts and car seats. The children asked lots of questions and both John and Dean said how well behaved the children were - Well done Year 6!
Today our Year 2 children have had a visit from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to tell them all about how to stay safe at home and what to do if they spot any dangers. The children got to try on the uniforms and ask lots of questions - Well done Year 2!
Yesterday and today, our Year 1 and 2 children have been performing to their parents. They have worked so hard on learning their lines and singing their hearts out. The children were so excited to perform to their parents and families and a wonderful time was had by all. Many thanks to all the parents who bought the raffle tickets and congratulations to the winners! Well done Year 1 and Year 2.
This week our Year 5 pupils will be taking part in our Bikeability programme. They are learning how to look after their bikes as well as themselves. They have worked really well with the instructors and listened carefully to the advice given. They have been riding on the yard and some even managed to get out on the roadside. The children will receive their certificates at the end of the week. Well done Year 5.
Today our school has been transformed into a Rock Star World! This is to launch our brand new times tables resource to get those facts fixed in our knowledge. The children have all been given their logins and they can access these at home. The children all looked amazing and we even held our very own rock concert which saw Francesca belt out some amazing songs! We have loved every minute of today! We even had winners of the best dressed rock stars! Well done everyone!
