  • Tom Palmer Workshop!

    Today our Year 6 children walked to Bacup library to meet the author Tom Palmer. The children got to learn all about his life and his journey to becoming a successful author. The children asked lots of interesting and challenging questions and Tom happily answered them all! The organiser of the event even sent this comment after our visit 'Could you pass our thanks to the class teacher, the helpers and especially the children for their enthusiasm at Tom Palmer's visit yesterday . They were brilliant, it was such a pleasure to have them in the library.' Well done Year 6!

  • Gymnastics at The Valley!

    On Monday, Edward, Roman and Destiny attended the Valley to take part in gymnastics session. They were involved in lots of different activities including handstands on the floor, balances and other floor challenges. They then did work on the bars swinging, rotating and climbing. Finally beam work. This was really tricky, but they all gave their best and had an amazing time. Thank you to Mrs Baron for arranging!

  • Multi-Skills Festival!

    Today some of our Northern children went along to The Valley to represent our school in the multi-skills festival where they took part in a variety of activities and had good fun too! And a special announcement - these children won Northern the Team Spirit award and we couldn’t be prouder of them all! Well done!

  • Boy’s Badminton Final

    Today our Year 6 boys - Ollie and Mason - represented Northern in the Badminton final! They played 10 games and won 9! They battled so hard and showed amazing team spirit and sportsmanship. We came first overall! Well done boys!

  • World Book Day 2023!

    Today our school came alive with characters from books of all genres and ages. We saw characters from Iron Man to Addams Family to classics such as the Wizard of Oz. We celebrated with a parade around the yard so we could all admire the costumes and clap everyone for taking part! It was amazing to see so thank you parents for everything you did to make your child's character come to life!

  • Year 6 Girls Badminton Competition!

    Today Rosie and Miley went to represent Northern at the Rossendale School’s Badminton event. They played amazingly well and showed great team spirit, resilience and sportsmanship! They came 5th overall. Well done Rosie and Miley. 

  • Year 6 Boys Badminton Qualifiers!

    Today, Mason and Ollie from Year 6 represented Northern in the Rossendale Schools Badminton Qualifiers. They played amazingly well and even came up against a Rossendale champion! It went to the wire and in the end first and second place were separated by just 1 point! We went through to the final which is on Friday 2nd March so watch this space! Well done Mason and Ollie!

  • Disco Fever!

    Our school hall was transformed into a dance floor tonight! All our children had an amazing time dancing and singing and most importantly doing the Conga with Mrs Ewens and Mrs Melvin! A fab time was had by all and topped off with juice and biscuits made it a night not to be forgotten.

  • Life Education Visits.

    Something very exciting is happening here at Northern! We have Emma in school today and tomorrow delivering PSHE sessions from the Life Education Service. Emma also brought in a friend - yes! Harold the Giraffe! Every child got to meet Harold and get a sticker too! Check out your child's class page to find out more and see some pictures too!

  • STEM club 19.1.23

    Tonight in STEM club, the children worked extremely hard on making fidget spinners. The children are really enjoying these sessions and are embedding a range of skills which is lovely to see. Well done STEM clubbers!
