  • Go Northern All Stars!

    On Sunday Northern All Stars Cheer took part in The National Schools Cheerleading Championships Manchester. They performed a cheer dance and a pom dance. We are all immensely proud of them as they came away with a 2nd and 4th. Miss Nuttall would like to thank every single parent who has helped support their child and to all the girls for putting in 100% and smashing the competition today.

  • King's Coronation Celebrations at Northern Primary!

    Today has been a very special day here at Northern! We have been having lots of fun and doing lots of activities in honour of His Majesty King Charles and his coronation this weekend. We started the day with our special assembly and were delighted to hear our Reception class singing the coronation song to the rest of the school. At lunch, we had a lovely picnic under our amazing bunting and every child was lucky enough to have a hat and flag each! They have all enjoyed their day of celebrating and learning more about the historical event of coronations! Well done staff and children of Northern - enjoy the real celebrations this weekend!

  • Year 6's Special Visitor!

    Buddhist minister Sanghaketu Dharmachari visited Year 6 to talk to them about Buddhism. The class are looking at what buddhists mean by living a 'good life' and Sanghaketu told them the story of how Prince Siddhartha Gautama became The Buddha by finding the answer to living a good life. He also explained why meditation is so important to buddhists and led the class in  a meditation to help them relax and focus before their SATs tests next week!

  • Scavenger Hunt at Marl Pits!

    Today, 8 adventurous children from Northern embarked on a scavenger hunt at Marl Pits. Children travelled through muddy fields and tall trees as they put their orienteering skills to the test. We are pleased to say that the children also managed to complete this before any other school!

     The children represented Northern excellently as they demonstrated determination, team work and positivity. Well done everybody!

  • School Council Crackdown!

    Today our school council members from Years 1 to 5 have been out with Kirsty, Lyndsay and Vinnie from Lancashire Constabulary to use the speed gun to monitor the speed of cars travelling too fast past our school. The children spoke to several drivers who were travelling over 30mph to raise awareness of how dangerous speeding is. They then got to try on Vinny's hat and jacket! Well done children on representing Northern so politely and sensibly!

  • Rossendale Hospice Bunny Hop Challenge 2023!

    Last Friday, our school went 'hopping mad!' Every child took part in the Rossendal Hospice Bunny Hop Challenge and tried to raised as much money as they could for a great cause! Plenty of our children also wore their bunny ears that they had made at home and lots of them returned the colouring pictures! Today Rossendale Hospice came to collect the money we had raised which so far is over £1000! We will give you a final total when the monies have all been counted. Here is a picture of our 4 top money raisers alongside Joanna. Well done Northern and a massive thank you to all our parents for supporting this fantastic cause!

  • Golf Madness!

    On Friday, Millie,Lexi, Ruby and Violet were very lucky and got to experience an amazing time at the Valley's very own golfing centre. The weather was not very kind at first but luckily our first activity was under cover on the driving range. The professional taught everyone individually. By the end of the session the girls were fantastic! 

    Next was Tri Golf which involved lots of games- Violet was successful in the chocolate bar challenge. Millie was scuppered by the wind! 

    Our final activity was the crazy golf course which suited the girls! They all in all had an amazing time . They all agreed that they would love to return. The golf centre gave all those pupils there a surprise treat of some sweeties. We are glad to say that there wasn't a hole in one!!!!

  • Stay and Play with Reception!

    Today our Reception children have had some very special friends to play with! Yes - their parents! They came and spent time in their child's learning environment playing with the toys and seeing how their children play too. Reception children even shared their biscuits! Thank you to all the parents who managed to attend and making the event such a lovely occasion!
