Throughout school we have been holding a Music and Drama themed week and the children have been so eager to share all they have been doing! Many classes used it as a 'Hook' for their topic and could tell staff all about what they had done from acting out scenarios to creating body percussion! Super work Northern!

  • World Book Day

    Thu 04 Mar 2021

World Book Day in school may have had a slightly more subdued feel this year but it was lovely to hear the buzz of fun and enjoyment - whether it was the David Walliams assembly in Year 6 or the Bedtime Stories in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (Yes, the children and teachers did wear their pyjamas to school). Even Gerald from Giraffes Can't Dance made a surprise appearance thanks to Mrs Marr. Many of our children also enjoyed the World Book Day family activities provided by Lancashire Family Learning.

Check out your child's class website page to find out more about the fun in school.

  • St David's Day

    Mon 01 Mar 2021

Today our children joined in with children across the country to celebrate St David's Day. We know have some amazing experts in school who can tell you lots of important facts about the patron saint of Wales as well as Welsh traditions.

If you want to greet a Welsh person in their native tongue, a chirpy 'Happy St David's Day' greeting translates as 'Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus. ' To help you out a bit further, the phonetic way of pronouncing that is 'deethe goil Dewi hapeece. '

  • Chinese New Year Fun

    Fri 12 Feb 2021
Today children in school and at home celebrated Chinese New Year and found out about the start of the year of the ox as well as Chinese traditions. Unfortunately we had to postpone the Dragon Dance workshops which were planned for each class but hopefully we will be able to enjoy these later in the year.
