  • Hothersall Lodge Residential

    Tue 10 Jul 2018
This weekend, our Year 6 children have been on their residential trip to Hothersall Lodge. They set off on Friday ready for a weekend of adventure and fun and we arrived back on Monday shattered, dirty and full of unforgettable memories of a fantastic school trip. They took part in so many activities such as canoeing, biking, archery, ghyl scrambling, orienteering, tree climbing, low ropes, abseiling, zip wire and the adventure gorge. We learned all about teamwork and how to take care of each other. But the most important thing they have learnt this weekend is how they can achieve when they believe!!

  • Cinderella and Rockerfella Perfomance

    Wed 27 Jun 2018
Today our school was brought to life by our Year 5 and Year 6 children. Their performance of Cinderella and Rockerfella transformed our school hall into the theatre for one day and night only. There were songs, dances, jokes, baddies, fairies and a whole host of entertaining actors. Special mention must go to our solo singers who sang beautifully. We have so many talented children here at Northern. Massive thanks to the parents too who provided the children's outfits but the biggest thanks goes to the children who have all worked extremely hard on learning their lines. lyrics and actions. Well done everyone!

The children have loved working with their parents and have produced some fantastic pieces of art work that we are sure will be displayed at home by some very proud parents. • Swimming Gala

    Tue 26 Jun 2018
This afternoon, eight of our Year 5 and Year 6 children attended the Rossendale Sports Partnership Swimming Gala at Marl Pits. They competed against 5 other Valley schools in Freestyle, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke and Relay events. The children swam their best and we could not be more proud of them. The children came in a variety of 2nd and 3rd places in our heats and when the times were recorded, we came 4th overall and for our school - who does not have swimming lessons in every year group - this was a fantastic achievement. Once again, the children's behaviour and team spirit shone out above the rest. Well Done!
