Today all across school we have been completing a variety of fun and exciting number challenges from solving puzzles to find Buddy's Key to cracking codes to reveal secret messages. We have had fun with our coppers and even played Who Wants to be a Maths Millionaire! Check out your child's Dojo page. Well done children and a massive thank you to our parents for donating to this amazing charity.
Today our school council members organised and delivered an assembly to the whole school. They talked about our Rights Respecting School status as well as our school values. They reminded the school children all about what their roles were in school and how they wanted to make a difference to the school. The first task they set the children was to organise a set day and time for class council so that they can feedback to us when we meet on a Friday. Well done School Council!
I am delighted to announce that Northern Primary school have now become a myHappymind school. myHappymind is an NHS backed and award winning preventative mental health and wellbeing program for Primary schools and is already successfully operating in many Lancashire schools. This week we kicked off with a launch in our whole school assembly, where all the children got to learn about the programme and meet the special characters, including HAP! This was followed by the children's first myHappymind lesson in class, where they received their new reflective journals and began to learn about how our brain works! There is a real buzz around the school and the children love it when HAP visits their classroom!
Today we had two police officers visit Reception class as we are looking at people who help us. All the children asked lots of questions and really enjoyed trying all the different hats on and looking at all the equipment!
