Today our Year 1 children took part in a Victorian themed workshop at Gawthorpe Hall. The activities consisted of making a Victorian Christmas decoration, adding ingredients and mixing a Christmas Pudding but the highlight was that they met Father Christmas and told them if they had been naughty or nice! The children had an amazing time and are definitely now in the Christmas Spirit! Well done Year 1 on your fantastic trip!
  • Carols Around the Tree

    Wed 05 Dec 2018
This evening, despite the blustery conditions, the children and staff from Northern ventured into Bacup to witness the lighting of the tree and then sing some carols around it. We were accompanied by the band and the children sang their hearts out. There was also a very special visitor who came to say hello despite this being his most busiest time of the year. Can you guess who it was? It was indeed Father Christmas! Many thanks to all who braved the elements and supported this local event.
  • Read Write Inc Reception Drop In

    Tue 04 Dec 2018
Today, parents of Reception children were able to come in and watch how the children are taught phonics and letter recognition in order to segment and blend new words. This is a transferable skill that the children can begin to apply independently when picking up new books. Many thanks to those that attended.
  • Book Fair

    Mon 03 Dec 2018
This week in school, our children have been busy falling in love with buying new books from our school Book Fair. The fair has been held every evening after school and the children had an opportunity during the school day to browse the fantastic selection available to buy. Massive thanks to all the parents who then purchased them. We have raised a fantastic amount of money in order to purchase new books for the class and school libraries.
