Year 6 Speed Monitors!
Wed 28 Sep 2022Today our Year 6 children took to the road with Lancashire Police to monitor the speed of motorists travelling through Weir towards our school. Staff and children are working closely with the police to try and get more restrictions in speed as people pass our school in order to keep us all safe. The children witnessed for themselves the speed at which some people choose to travel at despite being in a residential area near a park and a school. The children understand the speed limits and the stopping distances and we want a 20mph restriction outside our school. Well done Year 6!

Year 5 and Year 6 Football Competition
Fri 23 Sep 2022Today our school was represented twice over in the football competition held at the Valley Leadership Academy. Great news - Team A are through to the finals. They played outstanding and when they were not playing they stood on the side line cheering, supporting, and advising Team B. Their manager (Luke) was proud of them. Team B never gave up. They supported one another and helped with the nerves. They kept going and came 4th. Their manager (Luke) was proud of them. They loved the Northern team spirit of Team A! Well done everyone! We are so proud of you all!

Tue 06 Sep 2022We look after children AND parents at Northern. We know that dropping your child off for the first time can be difficult so we hope that a relaxing brew and some tasty biscuits might help. We have also put a few tissues in there for parents, just in case!

Ben and Mason run for Ukraine.
Mon 18 Jul 2022On Friday 15th July we held a non uniform day to help raise money for a hospital in Lviv. This all began when two of our amazing Year Five boys decided that they wanted to help children who desperately needed medical equipment in their local hospital - St NIcholas CHildren's Hospital Not only did the boys want to raise money through the non-uniform day but they also showed amazing resilience by completing 30 laps around the Crown Oil Arena? The boys have raised an amazing amount of money and we are so incredibly proud of them. Northern's Award Ceremonies!
Fri 15 Jul 2022Today we held our Awards ceremony for the children. The staff have given every single child a certificate celebrating their amazing achievements this year. The staff here are so proud of everyone of our pupils and their journey this year that it was a very fitting way to give each child the recognition they so very much deserved. The Year 6 trophies were also handed out which is always a momentous occasion for the school as they are an annual award, each of them with a story behind them so well done to the children who received this year.

Year 6 Prom 2022!
Thu 14 Jul 2022Tonight our school hall became the venue for our Year 6 Leavers Prom! We started off being photographed under our amazing balloon arch - kindly organised and donated by Beth and Karen - and then went into school and danced, laughed and sang the evening away! The staff and children had a phenomenal time and made some amazing memories that we will all treasure forever!

Northern's Got Talent 2022!
Wed 13 Jul 2022Today our stage hosted a variety of fantastic children performing amazing acts! We had singers, dancers, comedians, Kung Fu pandas and an amazing performance by our teaching assistants. We even had judges! From Annas, we had Anna and Niamh and representing school we had Mr Syers and Mr Hindle. Our Key Stage 1 joint first place winners were Royal Ruby and and 'Jen' and in Key Stage 2 our joint first place winners were Moana Millie and Ava! Well done to every single child who was brave enough to take part! And huge thanks to Miss Nuttall for organising everything and also thank you to Miss Collins who co-hosted the event!

Year 6 Leavers' Hoodies!
Fri 08 Jul 2022Today our children were given their infamous leavers hoodie! They all were delighted to walk into class this morning and see their hoodies and their leavers' books on their desks! They put them on straightaway and will be wearing them until the end of their time here at Northern. Massive thanks to the PTA who organise the events to fund them and for all the Northern families who support these events!

Seaside Day for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2!
Thu 07 Jul 2022Today our children have been on a virtual trip to the seaside. They have learnt many new amazing things and been entertained by the amazing Punch and Judy! Luckily for them, they had a real picnic and a real ice-cream - much more exciting than a virtual one! Check out the class pages for more information and pictures!
