Week 7

What a fun-filled week we've had in Year 2!

Year 2 loved their English learning this week. We began by exploring different poetry texts and sharing our likes and dislikes. Then, we all decided on a theme. In the end, we wanted our poems to be autumn-inspired. Next, we planned our poems, and finally, we wrote them. It was a pleasure to read the children's final pieces!

In Maths this week, the children deepened their understanding of the communication law of addition. As well, as learning to add and subtract two 2-digit numbers.

Year 2 enjoyed their final Topic lessons in Art, History, and Geography. In Art this week the children created their final autumn-inspired silk paintings! In History, we learned all about the rise and the eventual fall of the Cotton Mills in Lancashire. The children enjoyed creating a timeline of events from 1760 - 1980's. In Geography, we used Atlases to broaden our awareness of where we live in relation to the wider world.

Well Done Thea on receiving Shooting Star this week!

Wishing everybody a lovely half-term!

Miss Murray.
