Week 5
This week we have started a new unit in English, Non - Chronological Reports. The children have been gathering context from different reports and have begun designing their own to complete next week. In Maths, the children have worked really hard in Addition and Subtraction. We have been using part-part whole models to partition numbers numbers in to tens and ones to recombine them.
This week the children have enjoyed learning all about Rossendale Valley in our Geography lesson. We looked at lots of different landmarks in Rossendale from Whitworth to Helmshore. The children then created their own maps of Rossendale using symbols. This learning was extended when we studied a famous artist called Rob Miller who painted landscapes in and around Rossendale. In addition, the children thoroughly enjoyed their first coding session in Computing this week.
