This afternoon our LKS2 cricket team attended an inter-schools cricket competition at Bacup Cricket Club. The children played well and showed great sportsmanship. They finished 4th overall and had a great time! Well done team!

Today our Year 3 and 4 football team travelled to Crawshawbooth Primary School to take part in a football match. The children played to a very high standard and as a result of their teamwork and skill, managed to win the match! Well done boys!

Today, some of our Year 4 and 5 children attended a PE Inclusion Event organised by Rossendale Sports Partnership. This is where children can take part in events that focus more on the team building skills and the journey rather than the outcome. This week it was an orienteering event and the children had a great time. They also received medals and certificates in our Shooting Star Assembly. Well done boys!

Today some of our Key Stage 2 parents got the opportunity to come into school and take part in a Family Learning Science Workshop. The parents worked alongside each other today and then in the next 2 sessions they will get the opportunity to work alongside their children in a variety of science-based tasks and activities. The workshop runs over 3 Wednesdays and can we thank the parents who were able to attend this workshop. Thank you!

This afternoon, 8 of Year 6 pupils attended Marl Pits to compete in an inter-schools swimming gala. We were competing against 7 other schools in Freestyle, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke and Freestyle 4 x 1 relay event. We stormed through the heats to the qualifiers and achieved 2nd place overall! The children were fantastic in all areas and should took immense pride in how they swam and showed amazing sportsmanship. Well done Year 6!
