  • Year 1's Seaside Day

    Today our lucky Year 1 children have had a very special visitor. They learnt all about the seaside and were then treated to a Punch and Judy show. Laughter could be heard around the school from the children who obviously enjoyed the puppets! They did lots of activities in class too and then had an ice-cream to top the day off! Well done Year 1!
  • Reception's Pirate Day

    Today our Reception children looked very different! They came dressed as pirates and had a very special visitor in the afternoon. The children took part in pirate-themed activities all day and then their visitor showed them lots of artefacts that pirates used. The day was topped off with a delicious ice-cream! Well done Reception!
  • Treachery at Traitors' Quay

    Today our Year 5 and 6 chidlren put on not one but two performances for their parents and families. The play was Treachery at Traitors' Quay and was set in World War 2! The Dawson children uncovered the spy who happened to be their so-called teacher and the children did an amazing job learning their lines, the songs and showing off their acting skills. Well done Year 5 and Year 6!
  • Key Stage 1 Summer Crafts

    Today our parents and Key Stage 1 children had the opportunity to work together in a workshop organised by the Family Learning Centre. The workshop was called Summer Crafts and both children and parents produced some excellent work. Many thanks to the parents who were able to attend this workshop.
  • Year 5's Literacy Feast

    Today our Year 5 children attended a Literacy Feast hosted by Fearns High School. The children took part in a variety of workshops put on by the Fearns teaching staff. They learnt a lot of new things and had a great time visiting high school. Well done Year 5!
  • Year 4's trip to Knowsley Safari Park

    Today our Year 4 children went on their summer trip to Knowsley Safari Park. The children encountered all sorts of animals and learnt a lot of new things. The children have been studying animal and their habitats so it was lovely to see the children sharing their existing knowledge as well as learning some new knowledge. Well done Year 4!
  • Football Quarter Finals

    Today our Year 3 and Year 4 boys took part in the quarter finals of the football competition. The boys did an amazing job and thrashed the opponents to go through to the next round. Well done boys!
  • Year 5's Science Festival.

    Today our Year 5 children attended a Science Festival at Burnley College. The children learnt and saw a lot of amazing new things and they had an amazing time in the process. The children had a fantastic day and came away with a whole new fountain of knowledge.
  • Creepy Crawly Workshop

    Today our school has had a very interesting visitor. We have had a Creepy Crawly Workshop for our Year 2 and Year 3 children who got the opportunity to see lots of different insects and animals. They learnt about all of their habitats and how they survive. They learnt lots of new facts and asked some excellent questions! Well done Year 2 and Year 3!
  • Year 4's Viking Workshop

    Today our Year 4 children had a very exciting visitor. The children had a real life Viking come into school and teach them all about the Vikings and show them replicas of the weapons and tools they would have used back then. She taught them all about a Viking funeral and how they prepared for battle. Well done Year 4!
