Our Governors

We are duty bearers helping to ensure that the children of Northern and beyond enjoy and have access to all of their rights as set out by the United Nation's Convention for the Rights of the Child. Our role is to support and challenge the Northern community to make it the best it can be.

Who are we?

Mr Sims

 Chair of Governors

It is truly an honour to hold the position of ‘Chair’ for Northern Primary School and work alongside a fantastic team of driven and devoted individuals.

Having worked within higher education for 10 years covering a variety of roles including Teaching, Education Development and presently as a HR Business Partner, I’m grateful to be able to share my skills, experience and knowledge with the amazing team at Northern.

I strongly believe early years education is the key foundation to future success and is incredibly important for all aspects of development, laying the building blocks for future learning. Northern’s passion for success and achievement across all areas only reinforces and develops that desire for learning.

I have three boys, all primary age and spend every opportunity creating special memories together with our three dogs.

Anna Ewens

Headteacher

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of Northern Primary School.  I have a passion for ensuring that all children receive an education which is engaging and exciting and which gives children a thirst for learning.  I started at Northern as Deputy Headteacher in 2019 and began my journey as Headteacher here in September 2022.  I have previously been an Assistant Headteacher at a large, two form school and have experience of teaching all age ranges across the primary phase.  I am a very proud mum and love spending time with my family as well as my two beautiful dogs!
